George A. Philbrick
American electrical engineer who helped develop the first electronic sight simulator for fighter aircraft and guided bombsight simulator for bombers during World War II. To do this, Philbrick also developed the first use for a small-scale operational amplifier, later to become a very important electronic device that was also used for automatic antiaircraft weapons during the Second World War. This led to the development of the first electronic analog computers a few years later.
