Meripilus
Meripilus (family Polyporaceae) A genus of fungi that form large, fan-shaped fruit bodies in rosette-like clusters. The upper surface is marked with concentric zones of light and dark brown; the pores on the lower surface are small. Species include M. giganteus (giant polypore). They are found at the bases of living or dead, broad-leaved trees.
