Epichloë
Epichloë (order Clavicipitales) A genus of fungi that are parasitic on grasses. E. typhina is responsible for the condition known as choke. It forms a ring of conidia-bearing mycelium around the uppermost leaf sheath. The mycelium turns orange as perithecia develop.
