Guevara, ‘Che’
Guevara, ‘Che’ ( Ernesto) (1928–67) Argentine revolutionary leader. He became associated with Fidel Castro in Mexico, and returned with him to Cuba in 1956 to conduct guerrilla activities against the Batista regime. He disappeared from public view in 1965. Two years later, he was captured and killed while trying to establish a communist guerrilla base in Bolivia. His remains returned to Cuba in 1997.
