Glyn Dw̧r, Owain
Glyn Dw̧r, Owain (c.1359–1416) ( Owen Glendower) Welsh leader. A member of the house of Powys, he led a rebellion (1401) against Henry IV. Proclaimed Prince of Wales, Glyn Dw̧r allied himself with Henry's English enemies, Sir Henry Percy and the Mortimer family. He captured Harlech and Aberystwyth Castles, but lost both by 1409 and retreated to the hills to maintain guerrilla warfare against the English.
