tranexamic acid (tran-eks-am-ik) n. an antifibrinolytic drug administered by mouth or intravenous injection as an antidote to overdosage by fibrinolytic drugs and to control severe bleeding, for example after surgery or to treat menorrhagia. Trade name: Cyklokapron.
