Salvini-Donatelli, Fanny
Salvini-Donatelli, Fanny (real name, Francesca Lucchi) , Italian soprano; b. Florence, 1815; d. Milan, June 1891. She made her debut at the Teatro Apollo in Venice as Rosina in 1839, then sang throughout Italy. She also appeared in Vienna (1842) and in London at Drury Lane (1858), and likewise appeared in various other European music centers. She retired from the stage in 1859 but briefly resumed her career in 1865. She created the role of Violetta in La Traviata in 1853 in Venice and distinguished herself in other Verdi operas.
