Mosca, Luigi , Italian composer, brother of Giuseppe Mosca; b. Naples, 1775; d. there, Nov. 30, 1824. He was a pupil of Fenaroli. He served as maestro al cembalo at Naples’s Teatro San Carlo and also primo maestro di canto at the Cons, (from 1813). He wrote 16 operas, of which I Pretendenti delusi (Milan, Sept. 7,1811) was the most successful.
