Bijvanck, Henk
Dutch composer; b. Kudus, Java, Nov. 6, 1909; d. Heemstede, near Haarlem, Sept. 5, 1969. He studied composition with Franz Schmidt and piano with Andrassy in Vienna, where he was active as a pianist. He then taught piano at the Amsterdam Music Lyceum (1945–47). His works include a Piano Concerto (1943), Liberation Symphony (1944), Lourdes Symphony (1952), Sym. No. 2 (1965), chamber music, and vocal works.
