Barbier von Bagdad, Der (The Barber of Bagdad). Comedy-opera in 2 acts by Cornelius to his own lib. based on The Tale of the Tailor from 1001 Nights. Prod. Weimar, under Liszt, 1 perf. 1858; NY and Chicago 1890; London 1891 (RCM students). Most perfs. since 1884 have been of a rev. and re-orchestration by Mottl which he made that year for Karlsruhe.
