Waltz of the Toreadors
Waltz of the Toreadors ★★★ The Amorous General 1962
Retired general Sellers doesn't care for his wealthy, shrewish wife and tries to re-kindle a 17-year-old romance with a French woman. It doesn't work out (seems his illegitimate son also has a soft spot for the lady), but the general decides to keep his eyes open for other possibilities. Interestingly cast adaptation of Jean Anouilh's play. Sellers is hilarious, as usual. 105m/C VHS, DVD . GB Peter Sellers, Dany Robin, Margaret Leighton, Cyril Cusack; D: John Guillermin; W: Wolf Mankowitz; C: John Wilcox; M: Richard Addinsell.
