The Ascent 1994
The Ascent ★★½ 1994 (PG)
Based on the true story of Franco (Spano), a WWII Italian POW who's held in a camp in Africa. The prisoners enjoy making fun of the camp commander (Cross), who consistently fails at his attempts to climb the 15,500 peak of Mt. Kenya. Meanwhile, Franco decides to escape and climb the mountain himself—with the commander right behind. Beware if you suffer from vertigo. 96m/C VHS . Vincent Spano, Ben Cross, Tony LoBianco, Rachel Ward; D: Donald Shebib; C: David Connell.
