Born on November 17, 1845; died on November 26, 1912; daughter of Charles Anthony I of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (1811–1885), prince of Rumania, and Josephine of Baden (1813–1900); sister of Carol I, king of Rumania (r. 1881–1914); married Philip (1837–1905), count of Flanders, in 1867; children: Baudouin (1869–1891); twins Henrietta of Belgium (1870–1948, who married Emmanuel of Orléans) and Josephine (1870–1871); Josephine of Belgium (1872–1958, who married Charles Anthony II of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen); Albert I (1875–1934), king of the Belgians (r. 1909–1934).
